our last few days...

The last few days have been full of adventure, experiences and hanging out as a family. I apologize for the length of this post :) I will try to stay a bit more updated!

On Friday we enjoyed meeting up with 2 other Canadian families at a Phezulu. This is a wonderful experience to learn more about the Zulu culture through dance and a staged village. We had experienced this last time with Solomon as well but it was fun to take Solomon back when he could enjoy it. Ezri on the other hand did NOT love the drums and singing so much. Unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy it quite like last time. But thats ok. It was so great seeing Solomon tapping his toes and wiggling  his body to the beat.
This place is located in the Valley of 1000 hills which is the most gorgeous view. We even got a beautiful sunny day so there were no clouds and you could see so far.

After the drumming, dancing and learning about the Zulu culture we took in the Croc and Snake park. This time it was quite a bit more interactive which was fun for Josh and Solomon. We enjoyed walking around the Croc part and then looking at the snakes then we got a bit of a guide through a touch and feel section of the park. Josh held a scorpion, tarantula, a 3 year old alligator and touched a bearded dragon and hedgehog. Solomon didn't hold any but he was brave and touched the bearded dragon, hedgehog and alligator. It was pretty neat but I was more than happy to be the picture taker! Ezri and I hung out together :)

On Saturday there was a threat of rain but it was also the I heart market at the stadium. This happens only the first Saturday of each month and so it was definitely worth going. It turned out to be a beautiful, humid, hot day and no rain until we got home. Got some great keepsakes and enjoyed our time of eating great snacks and enjoying good coffee/chai! We plan on going back at some point to enjoy the actual stadium!

On Sunday we stayed in. It was POURING rain. Torrential downpour and the river behind our place was roaring. It was so loud and so fast. We stayed in the entire day and it was quite nice being at home, in our pyjamas, hanging out, taking time to bond and play. It being Mother's Day Josh let me sleep in until about 9:00am. It was wonderful!

Today I did a grocery run and enjoyed some play time. We hope to head out to another mall to get out and do some other shopping. But first we meet with our social worker to find out our next steps.

A few extra pictures from last week! Quiet hang out time!

Tomorrow we are heading to Tala Game Reserve. So excited to share this experience with Solomon! Ezri loves car rides so hopefully it will be a good morning for her too!! Can't wait to share pics and explore the beautiful parks of South Africa while seeing wonderful animals!

I am so beyond blessed to be the momma to these two beautiful children! My heart is full, joyful and overflowing with love but part of it also feels this intense feeling of what my children lost to become my children. What their birth moms gave up so that they became my children.
That will never be lost on me.
We are the blessed ones.

Solomon is still in love with his sister but is also LOVING his time with Josh and I. Yesterday he started calling me mother because it was Mothers Day. It sorta makes me feel old but he did give me his present of cuddling this morning. "That was for Mothers day mother" :) What a kid!

Ezri is doing very well. She still LOVES her brother, his quite attached to me at the moment but will go to Josh when needed which is really nice!  We are starting to change her bottles to actual milk instead of formula as well as we are transitioning her to drink bottles of water at night. It's been bit tricky but she is progressing! We aren't going to completely change everything while we are here but we are taking steps to change some of her habits. We are purely smitten with her and she his so fun! She is adventurous, loves to be heard, curious and oh so sweet!

As for paperwork, today our citizenship we think finally got sent off. We were waiting on courts and right around our court date there were 2 public holidays so people took time off which means our paperwork got delayed. We are praying that the citizenship won't take quite as long as it has in the past for some families. This week we will be working on getting Ezri's UBC at the home affairs office. Then once we receive her citizenship we will then be able to apply for her passport.
We continue to pray that there won't be any further delays in our paperwork as we would really like to come home when planned!

We would appreciate prayers for our paperwork, for continued bonding and trust between Ezri and us as well as prayer for Solomon to continue doing as great as he is! It's always tricky being out of routine and out of your home but he is doing well!
