Our first few days...

At this moment I am sitting by a beautiful pool, with a tall palm tree swaying in the wind and the sun shining down on me while stretched out on a lawn chair to relax and BOTH kids (YUP BOTH) are napping. So it is the perfect timing to do a bit of writing and sharing.

Officially on April 28 we became a family of four. However the process of actually being a family doesn't happen instantaneously. It takes time. A lot of time. I am sure you have heard of the words attachment and bonding. This sure is a huge part of becoming a family through adoption. We have known our 13 month old daughter for 9 days, she has been a Stromberg for 4 of those. Attachment and bonding takes time with our bundle of joy who has a personality, she is walking (more like running) and she loves to do things herself. BUT she has allowed us to do many things for her for which we are very grateful for because they will help in our attachment with her.

The last few days we have been hanging as a family. We have done a few outings with our hosts but mostly just have enjoyed our B&B grounds with lots of laughter, smiles and playing between Solomon and Ezri. We have been trying to be intentional with having one on one time with each of our kids and it's been going fairly well.

Sometimes Josh and I wonder if we are in a honeymoon phase or if its actually going this well. I know that not all families can say this so we feel very blessed. However, we did honestly anticipate the worst and unless we are blind we haven't seen it. Now in saying this, Solomon has definitely had his moments of wanting mommy and daddy to himself and Ezri not sure of how to deal with different situations but they are enjoying each other and we are enjoying them. Taking it one day at a time.

I think this next week and a bit we will become a bit more adventurous as a family and try a few more outings to different places. We are hoping to hit up Ushaka, Phezulu, Tala game reserve and the I heart market which is at the stadium. We do have to remind ourselves though that we just met our daughter only 9 days ago. It's not much time and so we need to remember to make sure we see how she is doing and how Solomon is handling everything. The kids come first (even though we want to see and do everything in this beautiful country).

God is at work. His hand is over our family and we are so blessed and grateful!!

Here are a few pictures of our precious children and beautiful home away from home. Enjoy!
Our beautiful home away from home for one last night.

Our adorable little Stromberg. Forever a family on April 28, 2016.

And of course our handsome man! He is LOVING this motorcycle.

Look at that face :) She just melts my heart.

They sure do love each other! We are so blessed.

Happy Monday!!
