I can't believe Solomon turned 3 this summer! I also can't believe that he has been home for almost 2 years! In 4 days it will be exactly 2 years ago that we found out about this little man who made me a mom! I am so blessed and thankful for his spunky personality, his adventurous spirit and his wild imagination!

At 3 he LOVES his cars, trucks, trains, airplanes and BOOKS! He enjoys taking off all his books from his shelf and sitting in the middle of them to read. He continues to enjoy playing playdough, being in his new sandbox, helping mommy or daddy, camping and being outside!
This summer he started riding his strider bike with true strides not just walking :) Next step- Peddle Bike? He loves to do pop-a-wheelies and fancy spin moves like his daddy. We even have to go on our bikes now with him because he is so fast. Who knew that family bike rides would begin when our little man was 3.
He also talks NON-STOP about his little brother or sister. He talks about picking them up, giving them zerberts, helping them eat their breakfast, giving them a snack, helping them into his sandbox, taking them to Five Guys to celebrate them being in our family, sharing all the toys, reading some books to him/her. He can not wait to be a big brother! (I can't wait either :))
This last weekend we painted our little one's room and soon it will be ready for him/her to move in. A few more details to finish up. Solomon so badly wanted to help so we let him paint the section behind the door. He is so proud!
The African Proverb "It takes a village to raise a child." is something that hits home with our family all the time. Not only does it take a village to raise our children but it takes a village to bring them home for us. We do what we can by saving where we can, making choices to help us work hard at saving, trusting that God is in control and sharing our story but I think we live were created to live in community and community is sharing our lives with one another. This can look very different for each person, each situation, but I do think we are called to live together however that looks.
As we continue to wait with anticipation, anxiousness, hope, doubt, joy we continue to pray that our little one is being taken care of, is being held and loved, is being shown God's love, is happy. We all think and talk about you daily and can't wait to have you in our arms forever!
As your big brother says- "Solomon is in our family, mommy is in our family, daddy is in our family and my baby brother or baby sister is in our family. We are all in our family!"
